There are other brands/variations as well, many of which are labeled as “herbal incense” or “herbal smoking blends”. The herbs, spices, plant material and other components that make up K2, Spice and other brands are meant to be smoked or made into a tea. The drug is said to mimic the effects of real marijuana. However, in addition to true plant materials that might be found in the products, manufactures frequently include other drugs and harmful components in their blends. Synthetic marijuana is addictive and harmful to one’s health.

In drug tests, synthetic marijuana will not produce a positive test result for marijuana. However other byproducts of the drug will show up in urine tests. The drug can be purchased online and on the street. At one time it was legal and was sold in smoke shops, gas stations and corner stores among other places. Today the drug is illegal.

Signs & Symptoms

K2 Spice causes many symptoms when ingested. Within about five minutes users will experience any variety of effects and symptoms in addition to the pleasurable high they might get. Negative side effects include increased heart rate, anxiety, paranoia, agitation and vomiting. The side effects get more severe with increased use. Severe side effects can include heart attack, seizures, high blood pressure and hallucinations. Effects of the drug can last up to eight hours. There are documented cases of drug-induced psychosis, and possibly suicide, being triggered or worsened by synthetic marijuana.
